Powering Efficiency Through Energy Incentives and Compressor Upgrades

A leading U.S. roofing manufacturer partnered with AIM Companies, a Tavoron Company, to improve the efficiency of its compressed air system. Aging compressed air equipment was limiting performance and driving unnecessary utility expenses, making a system upgrade a priority.

Through an energy efficiency assessment and close coordination with the local utility provider, AIM companies identified opportunities to modernize the compressed air system and secure available incentives. The result was a more efficient, reliable operation with improved return on investment and measurable energy savings.

The Challenge

The roofing manufacturer’s Shreveport facility was operating with aging compressed air equipment that consumed excessive energy and limited overall system performance. Rising utility costs and increasing sustainability expectations made the existing system both costly and inefficient.

The facility needed a modern solution that could:

  • Reduce energy consumption and operating costs
  • Improve system reliability and uptime
  • Support the company’s sustainability and environmental goals
  • Maximize available utility incentives to offset investment

With energy expenses climbing and performance constraints becoming more noticeable, the organization recognized that it was the right time to evaluate the system upgrade.

The Solution

An energy efficiency assessment identified opportunities to reduce energy use and improve system performance. To better match output to demand, the facility upgraded to Atlas Copco GA90 VSD (variable-speed drive) compressors with a master controller and smart controls.

The team coordinated with SWEPCO, the power company, to document energy savings and secure a utility incentive, improving efficiency, reliability, and overall project ROI.

The Result

Following the system upgrade, the roofing manufacturer achieved measurable improvements in energy efficiency, system performance, and reliability.

Key outcomes include:

  • Reduced energy consumption and lower monthly utility costs
  • Improved system reliability and reduced maintenance-related downtime
  • Greater control and flexibility through demand-based operation
  • Accelerated rate of return, supported by a $52,000 utility incentive
  • Improved alignment with sustainability goals

Customer Feedback

“Partnering with AIM made the entire process, from assessment to incentive approval, simple and efficient. The new compressors have delivered noticeable energy savings and improved system reliability.”
